Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi, has assured the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) that those that wants to kill him for speaking against the party and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, are free to do so and he is ready for them.
A group of unknown people allegedly from MCP has sent Mangochi a warning letter that they are coming for him as he has been speaking bad of President Chakwera and that he should relocate himself back to Mangochi his original district not Karonga.
Mangochi has advised those threatening him to leave Karonga to be reminded that Karonga people are not only in Karonga but almost each and every district in Malawi, saying he came to Karonga because the district is in Malawi.
He said at the time of his arrival in Karonga, he met friends like Steven Simusokwe and Lusibilo Kamwambi and many others, claiming that he has lived with the Karonga residents in peace and no one can claim that he insulted anyone in the district.
Speaking through a video clip, Mangochi said he has been speaking bad of President Chakwera and the MCP for failing to deliver claiming that the country is in endless fuel crisis and the MCP government has no solutions for this.
Mangochi said in 2019-2020 he fought hard for the DPP to be removed from power with full expectations that President Chakwera being a man of God and an ordained priest would deliver but the opposite has happened.
He said he cannot keep quiet in the same way the MCP wants him to be doing while the citizens are sailing in pain and sufferings fearing that MCP thugs would come to either silence or kill him saying to him fear is the great sin.
The activist has advised the MCP that if they want to take away his life they should just come straight other than using politics through some MCP members in the district threatening him to leave Karonga saying that cannot be tolerated by him.
‘MCP is using politics for the Karonga people to be against me basing on tribe, this is primitive politics and nonsense, just come and kill me, I do not move with personal bodyguards, everyone knows where my house is,” said Mangochi.
He has finally challenged the MCP to forget about winning 5 parliamentary seats in the northern region of Malawi observing that Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara has been blocking Kamlepo Kalua from speaking about the empty promises the MCP has delivered in the northern region of Malawi.
