The Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu has reaffirmed its commitment to community and corporate partnerships by extending its support to the TNM Super League outfit, Mzuzu City Hammers.
Additionally, the hotel is set to host high-profile boxing matches in March or April, further solidifying its position as a hub for sports and community events.
According to Grand Palace Hotel Manager Sam Phiri, the Hotel’s decision to support Mzuzu City Hammers and host boxing matches is part of its efforts to strengthen community engagement and partnerships.
“We value the support and cordial working relationship we have with the community and our business partners,” Phiri said.
Mzuzu City Hammers patron Gift Mkandawire expressed gratitude for the hotel’s support, citing its positive impact on the team’s morale and performance.
“We appreciate the hotel’s continued support, which has been a significant morale booster for our team,” Mkandawire said.
In 2024, the Grand Palace Hotel demonstrated its commitment to social corporate responsibility (SCR) by supporting various community initiatives, including:
- Assisting in the management of the Mpoto Awards
- Supporting the police and schools
- Feeding the elderly during Christmas
- Constructing toilets at Ekwendeni School for the Visual Impairment
The hotel’s expanded community partnerships and hosting of high-profile events underscore its dedication to promoting sports, community development, and social responsibility in Mzuzu.
