Human Rights Advocator Sir Charles Ben Longwe, says he is welcoming MACRA’s decision to procure a machine that will be used to monitor misinformation and disinformation trends in Malawi saying this is a good development for the country.
Longwe said he believes that the whole motive to procure the said machine is to track down Bakili Muluzi TV and Comrade Mtanyiwa and other activists in Malawi including Bon Kalindo advising government to even track down itself right from State House.
He said there have been lies such as three meals a day, we are fixing the country, when we enter government we will make sure that each and every Kwacha is used prudently observing that such lies are part of misinformation and disinformation the machine has to work for.
Speaking through an audio clip, Ben Longwe has argued that many of the lies are coming from State House itself such as fuel will be coming in trains no more on trucks and within days, Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola travelled to Songwe border to welcome fuel coming in trucks, saying the machine has to monitor these lies.
Ben Longwe has assured government that with the machine procured, Malawians will be more enlightened people to be knowing that government is and has been lying to them as they preparing for the 16th September, 2025 General Elections.
He said it is sad that one, Tamia Jabesi has become a victim of the procured machine advising government to build more prisons that the fight against misinformation will be targeting all including those at the State House who are used to tell Malawians lies in addition to Bakili Muluzi TV, Comrade Mtanyiwa and Bon Kalindo.
The Advocator said the Malawi constitution has empowered the citizens on free speech and not to be threatened or intimidated claiming that he is part of those enjoying free speech, he is within Malawi and not South Africa as he was before.
He said with the machine procured, Malawians will be able to know Minister of Labour Vitumbiko Mumba who is visiting companies on how much allowances he and his entourage are drawing and corruption cases will be handled in a race against time.
“Thanks should go to MACRA’s Director General Daud Suleiman for the decision of procuring this machine, State House is full of lies, people will now be getting the right information, in the right time and at the right place,” said Ben Longwe.
He has finally said the procured machine will determine who amongst the country’s leaders such as Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, Dr. Joyce Banda, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has destroyed the country through misinformation and disinformation trends in Malawi.
