Ekhaya FC has officially appointed former FCB Nyasa Bullets Reserves coach Enos Chatama as their new head coach, marking a significant step in the club’s preparations for their debut season in the TNM Super League.
Chatama has signed a two-year contract that will see him lead the team until January 2027. He brings a wealth of experience in developing young talent, having played a key role in nurturing some of Malawi’s rising football stars during his tenure at Bullets Reserves. Chatama will be assisted by Moses Chavula, the coach who guided Ekhaya to Super League promotion.
The newly promoted side has also reinforced its squad by signing three players who previously played under Chatama. These include FCB Nyasa Bullets main team defender Kesten Simbi, Bullets Reserves defender Happy Mphepo, and Bangwe All Stars goalkeeper Elias Missi. Their addition is expected to strengthen Ekhaya’s squad as they prepare to compete at the highest level of Malawian football.
Ekhaya FC secured their promotion to the TNM Super League on their first attempt after winning the 2024 ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League Premier Division. Their success in the regional league has raised expectations, and the appointment of Chatama, alongside key player acquisitions, signals the club’s ambition to establish itself as a competitive force in the Super League.
Speaking during his unveiling, Chatama expressed his excitement about the new challenge and his desire to build a strong, competitive team. He emphasized the importance of discipline, teamwork, and a winning mentality as the club transitions into top-flight football.
With the 2025 TNM Super League season fast approaching, Ekhaya FC’s management and technical team are focused on assembling a squad capable of making an impact in their debut season. The club’s fans will be eager to see how Chatama’s tactical expertise and the addition of experienced players will shape the team’s performance in their new chapter among Malawi’s elite football clubs.
