Gangata surprises his critics in Parliament

In what many Parliamentarians thought that Minister of Sports, Youth and Culture Alfred Gangata would be struggling to respond in Parliament to two questions from Mzimba South and Karonga constituences over stadium construction projects, Gangata responded by giving the shortest verse in the Bible ” Jesus wept.”

Gangata told Mzimba South MP on Monday to allow him ask his office for the correct answer and promises to come back to him later on and on a similar question from Karonga constituency, he just simply said ” noted”.Kalindo advises DPP to take what Gangata said seriously

The two responses by Gangata made the whole house to be turned into laughter with some other MPs standing up in support of Gangata that English is not a measure of Intelligence.

And in his remarks, Speaker of Parliament Sameer Suleman told the House that the Hon. Minister is just a man of few words, he had taken note saying the parliamentarians would see more action than his words.

He said Members of Parliament in Malawi uses Chichewa to communicate with the voters during campaign and in Parliament, they are forced to speak in English advising the Malawi Parliament that education is not a measure of Intelligence.

Bakili Muluzi TV said after 18th Century industrialization grew in Europe than churches this forced the missionaries to open their churches in Africa saying 99 percent of churches are in Africa and Africa has 99 percent of false prophets as starting a church does not require capital and licenses.
