A Malawi CongGundesParty (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has called on the Parliamentary Adhoc Committee investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, to investigate the Commission of Inquiry which was instituted by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to investigate the same.Dowa Council says strong leadership crucial for project implementation
Kamphangala said there’s a lot which the Commission of Inquiry instituted by President Chakwera did not investigate saying it was not a surprise that the inquiry did not receive Malawian blessings and even their report, was back to the sender.
He said he stands with all those that want the investigation to start from Raphael Kasambara’s death saying the death of him and Dr. Saulosi Chilima are related in one way or another.
The MCP diehard said the absence of former Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba to testify before the Adhoc Committee is another worrisome development speaking for itself that justice delayed, is justice denied.MCP Dedza Chair Joshua Malango Urges Calm as Campaign Period Ends
He said after news which went on viral that Lawyer Ralph Kasambara was found dead in a room at one of the Lodges in Lilongwe, government announced that the body will be flown from Blantyre to Mzuzu then by car to his home in Nkhatabay.
Testifying before the Adhoc Committee, Lawyer Wapona Kita said Kasambara’s family, friends and relatives agreed to hire a military aircraft to take the body by air to Mzuzu.
Kita said he was very surprised to listen from former MCP Defence Minister Harry Mkandawire that government provided a military aircraft advising the adhoc committee to hold Chakwera’s Commission of Inquiry wrong for not investigating Harry Mkandawire.
Ralph Kasambara’s brother, Charles, told the adhoc committee that they paid around MK 9 million to charter the military aircraft and on the burial day, two MCP ministers Harry Mkandawire and Richard Chimwendo Banda advised the Kasambara family to proceed with the funeral service programme on the claims that the plane which carried Dr. Saulosi Chilima to Mzuzu had returned to Lilongwe due to bad weather at the Mzuzu Airport.Peter Mutharika Takes Blue Alliance Campaign to Salima and Dedza
Kamphangala said the two people who appeared before the Adhoc Committee have added to Malawians other millions of questions without answers on circumstances surrounding Dr. Chilima and eight others, deaths.
He said he has also learnt with a great shock and dismay that the military aircraft which carried Dr. Chilima and eight others, to Mzuzu flew without a Black Box for security reasons questioning Malawians that security reasons for who, Dr. Saulosi Chilima or MDF pilots?
” I join all those suspecting that Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, were allegedly murdered by the MCP,” said Kamphangala.
He has appealed to Malawians to start preparing for their own Commission of Inquiry to establish the truth on what really happened in the Chikangawa forest on Monday, 10th June, 2025 basing on the graphic pictures which awent viral in all social media platforms.
Kamphangala has finally appealed to Malawians to continue praying for the truth to prevail on circumstances surrounding the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, that those who took part, must be hanged to death.
