The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, has arrived in Malawi through Chileka International Airport to undertake several official engagements alongside his Malawian counterpart, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
President Nyusi landed at exactly 9:11 a.m. and was warmly welcomed by President Chakwera, along with government officials, traditional leaders, and members of political parties.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders proceeded to the University of Malawi in Zomba, where President Nyusi is scheduled to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in International Affairs and Diplomacy (Honoris Causa).
On Thursday, President Chakwera and President Nyusi will jointly inaugurate the 20th National Agriculture Fair at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre. The fair, which will be held under the theme “Driving Towards Export-Oriented Agriculture Through Commercialisation and Innovation,” is expected to draw significant attention from stakeholders.
President Nyusi’s visit to Malawi is at the invitation of President Chakwera, reflecting the strong bilateral relationship between the two neighboring countries.
