Speaking to the media earlier this week, the Athletic Club star spoke about Barcelona’s interest in his signing for the first time and admitted that several clubs were interested in his signing this summer.
“Interest from Barça and other clubs? That’s my agent’s thing. Yes, there were many approaches with many clubs,” he said, as revealed by 365scores.
Adding information on his decision to stay at Athletic Club and revealing his future plans, Williams said.
“The Euros was a showcase but my heart is at Athletic Club and I wanted to stay here. Of course, no one knows what will happen in the future.”

As for Williams, a move to Barcelona even in the coming years appears complicated especially given that his release clause will see a bump up.
