The Vice President of Malawi, Dr. Michael Usi, recently canceled a planned trip to Luchenza in Thyolo District to meet a group of UTM Party supporters who gathered at his Mudi residence in Blantyre.

According to a video clip circulating online, the group reportedly traveled from Malabada, Blantyre, to express their concerns regarding certain issues within the party.

Dr. Usi stated that he could not deny the group their right to voice their grievances, as it was their decision to visit him in pursuit of constructive engagement.

“I cannot stop them because this is their choice, and they are pursuing their own good,” he remarked.

When asked about his future political movements, Dr. Usi urged patience, saying, “As for my political journeys, please wait for now.”

The visit highlights growing concerns among UTM supporters about internal party matters, and Dr. Usi’s decision to engage them demonstrates his commitment to addressing these issues. However, political analysts argue that such developments could signify deeper challenges within the party as it prepares for the upcoming 2025 elections.
