At the recent UTM press conference held at the party’s headquarters, Dalitso Kabambe expressed deep concerns regarding the challenges currently facing the Chakwera government.
He highlighted several critical issues that are impacting the nation.
Kabambe pointed out that the rising unemployment rate is a significant concern, affecting the livelihoods of many Malawians and contributing to social instability.
He emphasized that the lack of foreign exchange is hindering trade and investment, making it difficult for businesses to operate effectively and for citizens to access essential goods.
Kabambe criticized the prevalence of corruption within the government, suggesting that it undermines public trust and diverts resources away from essential services.
He further lamented the inadequate supply of medicines and food in public healthcare facilities, which compromises the quality of care and the health of the population.
Kabambe pointed out that the increasing cost of basic goods is placing a heavy burden on families, making it challenging for them to meet their daily needs.
He consequently attributed these challenges to poor leadership, emphasizing that ineffective fiscal and economic policies, including excessive borrowing, nepotism, tribalism, and regionalism, are exacerbating the situation in Malawi.
