Pastors Voice Endorses Peter Mutharika for Malawi Presidency

Mzuzu, Malawi — September 2025 | A Christian Civil Society Organization, Pastors Voice, has officially endorsed Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Professor Peter Mutharika as the next president of Malawi ahead of the September 16 elections.

The endorsement was made during a press briefing held in Mzuzu on Monday, where the organization’s Secretary, Aggrey Gogoda, highlighted Mutharika’s leadership record and vision for the country.

Speaking at the event, Gogoda said the group’s decision was based on careful reflection of Mutharika’s previous tenure as Malawi’s Head of State.

“In contrast, the country currently faces economic difficulties, rising unemployment, corruption, and challenges in service delivery. We believe Malawi needs a leader like Professor Mutharika, someone with experience, wisdom, and a vision for renewal.”

Gogoda further emphasized that the endorsement is guided by the organization’s commitment to national well-being and the future of Malawians.

Pastors Voice praised Mutharika’s past achievements, pointing out that:

His administration safeguarded the economy through sound policies.

He respected the constitution, rule of law, and democratic governance.

He supported education, skills training, and leadership opportunities for young people.

His government promoted programs that encouraged national unity and stability.

“Malawi needs a leader who has demonstrated integrity, vision, and a proven track record of leadership. Professor Mutharika is that leader,” Gogoda stressed.

Call to Malawians

The organization concluded by urging citizens to make a wise decision at the ballot box.

“Our appeal to Malawians is simple: vote wisely for the future of the country. We believe Professor Peter Mutharika can guide Malawi towards stability, growth, and hope for all generations,” Gogoda said.
