Chiradzulu-based political and social commentator Suleman Chitera has extended heartfelt congratulations to all individuals recently appointed to serve on the Boards of Malawi’s government parastatals.

“Out of over 22 million Malawians, being entrusted with such a critical responsibility is a true mark of your expertise, integrity, and dedication to national service,” Chitera said. “Your appointment is not only a personal achievement—it reflects the trust the nation has placed in your ability to drive Malawi forward.”

Chitera emphasized that Board appointments are not ceremonial, but a call to active service, meaningful contribution, and steadfast commitment to excellence. He urged newly appointed members to provide strategic oversight, innovate, and act responsibly to ensure institutional growth and sustainability.

Highlighting past challenges, Chitera noted that some boards have suffered from underperformance and resource mismanagement, citing ADMARC as an example of the consequences of ineffective leadership. He called for appointments based on merit, competence, and integrity, rather than political appeasement.

“Our parastatals are the backbone of Malawi’s growth and development. With the right leadership, they can become engines of innovation, efficiency, and service to the people,” Chitera added. “Let these appointments mark a new era of accountability, performance, and national progress.”

He concluded with a message of encouragement to the new Board Members: “Together, let us build a stronger, more prosperous Malawi. Your commitment today is a legacy for tomorrow. Congratulations once again, and may your service inspire progress for all Malawians!”
