A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has thanked MCP youth for shunning a meeting which they were invited to attend at the party’s headquarters in Lilongwe to give morale to the arrested two senior MCP members.
Writing on his official face book page, Business entrepreneur Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira, said the youth were invited to meet to strategize themselves to go to Area18- Lingadzi Police and Kanengo Police stations to show solidarity with the arrested two distinguished MCP leaders.
Former MCP Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda has been charged by Police for committing the offence of attempted murder on MCP member Frank Chiwanda who in 2021 made a prophecy that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera would lose the 16th September, 2025 presidential elections.
The prophecy by Chiwanda did not go well with some MCP members who allegedly made plans to assassinate him and they did so by bruising him leaving him half- dead and by the grace of God, he was taken to the Kamuzu Central Hospital where he was admitted and recovered with all, praising the Lord.
Former Minister of Trade who was also President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s Running-mate Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba has been charged by Police for the offence of inciting violence while election results were trickling in that put Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ahead of MCP President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
The MCP held two press conferences where Mumba made a declaration that “We got it” simply passing the message to MCP youth to mobilize themselves to go to the streets to give pressure to Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja to declare President Chakwera as the winner of the elections.
At the meeting which was called for the youth to attend, several senior members of the party such as Chakakala Chaziya, Khadja Leaah Chunga, Mike Bango, Monica Chayang’anamuno, Vera Kantukule, and Patrick Zebron Chilondola, among others, were present but the youth who were cordially invited, were nowhere to be seen.
Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira has suspected that may be the message of inviting the youth to convene at the MCP headquarters in Lilongwe reached them while they are busy planting maize seeds in their gardens.
Kamphangala has advised all MCP youth except those that benefited from the arrested senior members of the party to hold violent protests or giving morale to the arrested two individuals as a matter of paying back what they ate.
He said those that benefited from drinking mahewu, this is the time to tell them that enough is enough, warning them that holding violent protests is a criminal offence, they will be arrested and join the panga wielding thugs who are on court bail for the offences of terrorizing and hacking innocent people.
“I am urging you not to take part in any meeting of planning to be visiting those party members to be arrested, they stole billions of Kwachas and out of that, they were being given maheu,” said Kamphangala.
