Kalindo has issued a stern warning over plans by some non-governmental organizations to organize protests against the abuses faced by people with albinism in Malawi.
Describing the proposed demonstrations as a recipe for chaos, Kalindo said he is deeply concerned, emphasizing that such actions could destabilize the country.
“These protests are not about justice; they are intended to create unrest in our nation,” Kalindo stated firmly.
He appealed to all Malawians who respect the law to reject any attempt to hold the demonstrations, urging citizens to stand together with the government in safeguarding peace and national stability.
Kalindo’s warning comes amid growing tensions as human rights groups highlight ongoing attacks and discrimination against people with albinism, a vulnerable community in Malawi. He stressed that true progress and protection for the affected must come through dialogue and lawful measures, not disruptive protests.
“Let us be united in promoting peace and supporting lawful interventions. Division and unrest will only harm our nation,” he added.
