Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Chikwawa have officially welcomed the newly appointed District Commissioner, Mr. Frank Mkandawire, in a meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration for district development.

The meeting, organized by Chikwawa CSOs through their Chairperson, Mr. Anderson Frey Billiat, brought together various stakeholders to engage with the new District Commissioner and discuss key development priorities for the district.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Billiati emphasized the importance of partnership between civil society and the District Council, highlighting that effective collaboration is essential in addressing socio-economic challenges affecting communities in Chikwawa.

“We believe that working together with the District Commissioner’s office will enhance transparency, accountability, and service delivery,” said Mr. Billiat.
In his remarks, the newly appointed District Commissioner expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and pledged to work closely with civil society organizations to promote inclusive development. He stressed the need for open communication and mutual support to ensure that development programs positively impact local communities.

The meeting also provided a platform for stakeholders to share expectations and discuss ways to improve coordination between the District Commissioner’s office and civil society groups aiming to accelerate development and improve livelihoods in Chikwawa.
Chikwawa has over 40 local and international organizations working in the district.
