Writing on his official Facebook page, Namalomba urged Malawians to remain calm and avoid panic buying, stressing that the situation is under control and will soon normalise.
“We have fuel for seven days already in the country, and distribution is in progress. The government has procured enough fuel for 30 days, and everything will stabilise soon,” he said.
The minister’s remarks come at a time when long queues have been reported at filling stations across the country, raising fears among motorists and businesses dependent on fuel.
