Government To Relocate Mpatsa Primary School In Nsanje

The flood-prone Mpatsa Primary School in Nsanje district is on the verge of being relocated to an upper area come next year as a permanent solution to flood induced disruptions the institution faces every year.

Nsanje Central lawmaker, Kafandikhale Mandevana has disclosed this; saying the current situation hugely compromises learning and teaching at the institution.

He said this on the sidelines of his K200, 000 bonanza at Chitsa Community Ground; saying time has come to shift the school to a safer area.

Mandevana further disclosed they target to relocate Nyamithuthu and Chilumba Primary Schools which are also mostly trapped in a similar predicament annually.

A few days ago, flash floods wrecked havoc at the school with its authorities calling for a serious reflection on the problem to save it in the next year’s: saying the school’s foundations are already shaky.

In his remarks, Group VillageHeadman Chitsa lamented poor network coverage in the area; saying his subjects struggle to communicate.

” There is no tower in this area which can be used for communications,” said the chief.
