Bangwe, FOMO battle for league survival

Bangwe All Stars coach, Rodgers Yasin, has described their match against FOMO this afternoon at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre as a must-win, crucial for their survival in the TNM Super League.

Currently sitting in 15th place with 12 points, Bangwe are four points ahead of the league’s bottom team, Baka City while FOMO is in 14th place with 15 points.

Yasin emphasised the importance of the game, noting that it could determine their fate in the top flight league.

The match will also serve as a litmus test for FOMO’s caretaker coach, Elvis Kafoteka, who replaced Head Coach Gilbert Chirwa and Assistant Coach Luckson Nyoni following their suspensions.

Kafoteka stressed the need for his team to be aggressive on the ball as they aim to secure vital points.

In the first round, FOMO edged out Bangwe with a narrow 1-0 victory at Mulanje Park Stadium, marking FOMO’s debut league game
