Mzuzu Golf Club has regained it’s fresh new look, bringing excitement to the golf enthusiasts in the city and the whole northern region following the satisfactory multi-million maintenance works now almost completed.
A sleek brick wall surrounding the golf course and the club structure have been revamped with the membership of more than 120 but still on the rise.
The newly elected Mzuzu Golf Club president, Happy Lupwayi credits the management of Sunbird Mzuzu Hotel and his predecessors, Lieutenant Colonel Thokozani Chazema and Othaniel Hara, for laying the groundwork for this transformation.
“Collaboration with the management of the Sunbird Mzuzu Hotel during Chazema and Hara’s tenures were crucial in implementing the major maintenance,” Lupwayi said, announcing a major golf competition to re-launch the club soon.
Breaking down the barriers, Silas Msowoya, the full-time golf captain, dispels the notion that golf is only for the elite.
“Golf is for everyone, especially youths!” Msowoya encourages.
With the refurbished club house and top-notch facilities, Msowoya invites guardians and young people to experience the game in a conducive environment.
For the upcoming Events, mark your calendars for October 5th, when the club will host a golf ball pool to prepare golfers for the extravaganza, the re-launch competition.
The exact date will be announced soon, but one thing’s for sure, it will be a major event! The club is urging corporate partners to support these initiatives and be part of this exciting new chapter.
