Blantyre Cycling Club athletes Gift Nazombe and Missi Kathumba have won the Tour de Dwangwa Cycling Race in professional drop hand bike and mountain bike categories, respectively.
Loyce Pophiwa from Lilongwe Cycling Club has emerged champion in the ladies section.
Nazombe took the drop hand bike category crown after covering 85 kilometre distance from Kande in Nkhatabay to Chitowe Ground in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota in 2 hours, 25 minutes, 12 seconds. He beat his father and runner up Steve by two seconds.
In mountain bike category, Kathumba crossed the finish line in 2:27:00, a minute better than second placed Blessings Kumwenda from Mzuzu Cycling Club.
