VP Michael Usi shuns UTM memorial rally in Lilongwe
State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi who is also United Transformation Movement (UTM) President on Sunday shunned a memorial rally the party organized at Masintha Ground in the capital Lilongwe.
The rally was organized to honour the then party leader Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima who died in a plane crash on June 10, 2024 together with 8 others in Chikangawa Forest.
The rally attracted all big guns in the party namely; UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati, new catch Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, Newton Kambala, UTM Publicity Secretary Felix Njawala and Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka.

But Usi was not available at the memorial rally which saw some top official rejecting the interim report on Chilima’s plane crash.
UTM is scheduled to go to convention in October this year ahead of the 2025 polls
