Political activist Bon Kalindo, says Malawi is a country of shame and disappointments observing that Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s choice of a running mate has disappointed millions of Malawians and they did not expect that to happen.
Kalindo said the country is facing numerous challenges such as skyrocketing prices of essential goods, hunger, no medicines in hospitals, fertilizers which its price is at alarming stage saying all this demand someone to go around the people to give them the message of hope that tomorrow will be better than today.
He said the way Professor Mutharika has reached, it is doubtful that he can go flat out meeting various groups of people giving the message of hope saying this is why he has been advocating for the choice of Dr. Dalitso Kabambe to take this challenging job on behalf of Professor Mutharika.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said many Malawians expected Professor Mutharika to unveil Dr. Dalitso Kabambe as his Running mate advising Professor Mutharika that he has missed a penalty on the choice of Justice Jane Ansah as his Running mate.
Kalindo has expressed hope that the DPP will go back to the drawing board to discuss with the UTM on how best to form a good alliance that will liberate Malawians from the shackles of MCP dictatorship and a quest to bring the country back to a one-party state.
He has again allegedly suspected that some other people within and outside opposition parties have received huge sums of money to frustrate all efforts of the grand opposition alliance to oust the MCP from power.
The activist said Malawians have heard it for themselves that someone in the AFORD has made it clear that he is not supporting AFORD –DPP alliance meaning that he cannot work with the DPP saying this is an example of efforts frustrating opposition parties to come together.
The activist has questioned this AFORD Member that if he is not happy with AFORD-DPP electoral alliance, he should tell AFORD which alliance to join so that party members and supporters can follow before the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said sources within the DPP and UTM have confided to him that the alliance meeting took long hours without reaching to an agreement of a purpose on the choice of the Running mate warning the two parties that if it was Kabambe or Professor Mutharika rejecting, God has to visit them in a special way.
“If it is true that Dr. Kabambe has rejected the choice of the Running mate and he wants to lead the Alliance as its President, God has to visit you in a special way, “said Kalindo.
He has finally advised Professor Mutharika, Dr. George Chaponda, Mr. Francis Mphepo that DPP members are not happy, they have missed a penalty and this can be corrected by themselves to bring the lost trust for supporters of the DPP to mobilize themselves in their large numbers to vote out President Chakwera and the MCP in unity of purpose on the 16th September, 2025.
