In a heart-warming display of kindness and commitment to community service, Catherine Mzumara, the UTM party vice president for the Northern region and aspiring parliamentary candidate for Mzimba North, has paid the tuition fees for Mercy Jere, a talented but needy student from Embombeni in Mzimba district.

Her selfless act has paid off, as Mercy has now graduated as a qualified teacher.
Mzumara’s gesture is a testament to her dedication to continued giving back to the community, despite losing the parliamentary race in 2019.

“Leadership is not about a title, but about action – creating opportunities, investing in people, and believing in the future of our nation,” Mzumara proudly shared on her Facebook page.
As Malawi approaches crucial leadership choices, Mzumara remains committed to building a nation where no child’s dreams die due to poverty.
“Together, we can make this possible. Thank you, Mercy Jere, for making me a proud guardian,” she added.
Mzumara’s inspiring story serves as a reminder that true leadership is about making a positive impact in the lives of others.
