United Transformation Movement’s (UTM) President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, has described the reports of serious damage to Kamuzu Palace State House in Lilongwe as very concerning demanding an apology from the MCP and its leader Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Soon after Former President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera announced to the nation that he has accepted the results of the elections held on the 16th September, 2025 MCP members did not accept the results meaning that President Chakwera did not accept the results in good faith.Kabambe Pledges to Revive Malawi’s Kwacha Within Two Years

Reports started emerging from State House that there was wanton cutting down of trees carelessly and hunting of wild animals inside State House premises, water was just flowing in all directions at nobody’s care and on a sad note, faeces were smeared on the walls of State House.

It has been reported that curtains, chairs, pots and spoons were vandalized, water metres vandalized, missing equipment, filth and rubbish all over the ground, all this were made deliberately in anger over President Chakwera’s acceptance of a defeat to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Writing on his face book page, Dr. Kabambe has called for those responsible for this chaos at the State House to be held accountable, the staff in charge of security and maintenance at State House who are still government employees to be questioned immediately.

Kabambe has noted with a great concern that State House is a high –security building observing that such a breach cannot be ignored, it is gross negligence of duty, and the cost of the damage should be shared by those involved.

He said it is disheartening that former President and leader of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has not condemned these actions, saying instead, they remain silent saying this arrogance and impunity are unacceptable.

“Attacking the State House is a serious offence, almost treasonous, and must be treated as such, there is no room for political excuses or persecution after such behavior,” reads Dr. Kabambe’s message on the wall.

He has called for an independent evaluator to assess the damage, and those responsible should pay for it saying they must be arrested and brought to justice, this is sabotaging against Malawi.
