Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah is set to visit Kasungu District on Tuesday, 27 January, 2026, in a move that’s been eagerly awaited by local farmers and entrepreneurs.

The visit is expected to give a much-needed boost to the local economy, with the Vice President scheduled to meet with stakeholders to discuss ways to promote agricultural growth and development in the region.

Mphomwa Trading Centre, located about 26 kilometres from Kasungu Boma, will be the focal point of the Vice President’s visit, where she’ll engage with the local community and share her vision for Malawi’s future.

Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Ansah is expected to take time to listen to the concerns of local residents, offering a rare opportunity for them to have their voices heard.

BOMFA Cooperative, a key player in the local agricultural sector, has been working tirelessly to promote sustainable farming practices, and the Vice President’s visit is expected to give their efforts a significant shot in the arm.

The visit is a clear indication of the government’s commitment to supporting small-scale farmers and promoting agricultural development, a crucial sector in Malawi’s economy, and locals are optimistic that it will bring new opportunities and a brighter future.
