Many women in the country have expressed strong anger over a proposal currently being discussed in Parliament to introduce castration as punishment for men convicted of rape.

According to the women, such a penalty could put the lives of many men at risk, arguing that it may be misused, especially in cases where accusations could be false.

They also claim that the behavior of some young girls today is contributing to the rise in rape cases, alleging that some deliberately act in ways that attract men. Because of this, they are calling on the government and relevant institutions to prioritize moral education, counseling, and religious guidance to help improve the behavior of young people.

The women further say many families are breaking down due to a lack of guidance and discipline among the youth, stressing that this issue requires urgent attention rather than focusing solely on harsh punishment.

On the proposed law, they argue that any punishment should be applied equally without bias. Some insist that if such a penalty is introduced, it should be fair to all—suggesting either equal punishment for everyone or imprisonment for offenders—rather than targeting men only.

The women have also threatened to stage protests if Parliament proceeds with the proposal, which they say lacks fairness and could create more problems in society.

The development comes as authorities continue to explore ways to combat rising rape cases in the country, with some advocating for stricter laws while others emphasize the need for long-term solutions that address the root causes of the problem.

  1. Corruption cases are very difficult to deal with because some of those who investigate the cases are also corrupt.

It is inhumane to castrate someone as a punishment for Rape . Leave human body intact and we know that those that are caught are always punished .This is enough even though the number of years is not proportional to the crime.
