Former Malawi President Dr. Joyce Banda has been recognised for her contribution to Africa’s development after receiving the prestigious African Champions Award during this year’s Africa Walk held in Abeokuta, Nigeria.

Among the distinguished guests were former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, the King of Olu State, former First Ladies, senior government officials, civil society leaders and prominent business figures.
The recognition adds to Dr. Banda’s growing list of international honours earned since leaving office. She has remained active on the global stage, championing women’s empowerment, youth entrepreneurship, education, financial inclusion and sustainable development across Africa.
