LILONGWE — Prince Kapondamgaga has emerged as a potential contender for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) presidency, expressing interest in contesting for the top position at the party’s upcoming national convention.
Kapondamgaga, who previously worked alongside former President Dr Lazarus Chakwera while serving as Chief of Staff at State House, is positioning himself as a candidate focused on rebuilding unity within the party.
His interest comes at a time when MCP is facing internal divisions, with Kapondamgaga saying he wants to help bring the party together and restore cohesion among its members.
