FDH Money Bureau has splashed K40 million total grand prize to four individual pairs to mark the end of its five-months ‘Double Double’ promotion.
The winning pairs are Maud Alick and Frank Alick, Issa Namutibuka and Ladouce Therese, Astrid Fatima Magnan and Chiukepo M. Magawa, and Wadzanai Mukurutangwa and Ruth Kapida.
They will share K10 million each pair.
Launched in July, the ‘Double Double’ promotion rewarded both senders and recipients of money transfers through Western Union, MoneyGram, and Ria, using FDH platforms.
Apart from the grand prize draw, FDH Money Bureau also conducted a monthly draw in which 20 more winners walked away with K500,000 each.
Speaking during the final draw on Thursday, FDH Money Bureau Marketing Manager Tiyese Kaimila described the promotion as a success, saying it had achieved its intended objectives of encouraging customers to use safe and regulated money transfer channels.
“We also wanted to assure Malawians in the diaspora that their money would reach their loved ones safely through trusted and recognised channels. The promotion was a success and its overall aim was achieved,” said Kaimila.
He further highlighted the promotion’s contribution towards supporting foreign exchange regulation in the country.
“The promotion helped to improve the flow of foreign currency through recognised financial institutions, supported transparency in money transfers and has contributed to efforts aimed at addressing foreign exchange challenges in the country,” he said.
