Mpinganjira Full Support Mighty Mukuru Wanderers

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers faces a tall order next season after the club’s president Thom Mpinganjira set targets for the team, including winning the TNM Super League championship, having last won it in 2017.

Mpinganjira said having invested in hiring a foreign coach Mark Harrison and new signings ahead of next season, they expect the Lali Lubani Road outfit to win a treble.

“We have brought in a top coach and invested heavily in new signings not only to win one cup but dominate everything next season. So my message to the team and the entire technical panel is simple; win three trophies next season,” he said.

Wanderers have signed striker Christopher Kumwembe from Civil Service United and Mphatso Kamanga from Karonga United following Harrison’s recommendations.

Mpinganjira hinted that Wanderers might unveil more signings today.

He could not be drawn to disclose potential players but sources revealed that the Nomads were set to sign Blue Eagles striker Gaddie Chirwa, Mighty Tigers goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa and defender Emmanuel Nyirenda.

Harrison, who left the country Monday for the United Kingdom for holiday, said it was good to be ambitious.

“It feels good to have dreams. We will deal with the situation as it comes. I am pretty aware that our colleagues, Nyasa Big Bullets and other teams, will come hard on us next season. We expect a tough season and we are still rebuilding the team,” he said.

Wanderers Captain Alfred Manyozo Jnr welcomed Mpinganjira’s targets.

“In the just ended season, we really wanted to win the FDH Bank Cup but failed. We have heard that some new players will join us. We expect to be much stronger than we were this season,” he said.

In the TNM Super League, Wanderers finished on fourth position with 56 points from 30 matches but in the FDH Bank Cup they lost 4-0 to rivals Bullets in the semi-finals.
