During a press briefing at Kamuzu Palace, one of the issues the state president, Dr Lazarus Chakwera disclosed was the Government’s proposal to introduce foreign languages to ease communication within regional blocks.
Recently, the African Union adopted Swahili as an official language. Some countries have already factored Swahili in their respective school curricula. Apart from Swahili, other regional languages worth learning include Portuguese, French, and Zulu.
Chakwera administration is doing a commendable job establishing strong relationships with its neighbours. Malawi need these neighbours when it comes to trade and other bilateral issues.
