The Public Appointments Committee of Parliament will next week meet to discuss concerns some Malawians have raised on issues surrounding Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Martha Chizuma.
On Monday this week, some Malawians held protests in Lilongwe calling for the firing of Chizuma over a leaked phone conversation she had with an unknown person.
In the audio, Chizuma was narrating the plight faced in the fight against corruption.
The recording sparked public debate including a revelation by President Lazarus Chakwera later on that Chizuma had been disciplined on the same.
Lately, some section of the society has felt Chizuma broke oath of office is making such revelations and therefore must be fired.
CDED Director Silvester Namiwa said his organization has written the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament to cautiously address the concerns.
Meanwhile, Chairperson for Public Appointments Committee of Parliament, Joyce Chitsulo said matters surrounding Chizuma will be discussed in parliament from May 25.
