The Lilongwe District Health Office (DHO) has made a plea to all stakeholders who would like to donate to the health sector to seek guidance from health officials before donating.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the LL DHO, Richard Mvula, made the call as the office continues to seek support in the cholera fight.
“Yes we need help but ask what we need so that you purchase appropriate medical items,” – said Mvula.
Mvula commended the two subsidiaries of the National Bank of Malawi, NB Capital and Pension for making consultations before donating.
According to Mvula the medical items are worth K3 million and have been donated to Bwaila Hospital to fight cholera in the district.
As of Thursday Lilongwe had registered 59 cholera cases
