Earlier in the week, Barcelona starlet Hector Fort suffered a minor setback in his progression this season as he was unable to link up with the Spanish Under-19 national team due to a viral infection.
Despite being a part of the Barcelona first-team setup, Fort has endured a slow start to the season.
The right-back has failed to accumulate a single minute under Hansi Flick this season, which has led to the German coach personally apologising to him.
As such, Fort could now play for the reserve team, Barça Atletic, who have been boosted by his availability ahead of the upcoming clash against Oruense.
Fort available to play vs Ourense
As reported by SPORT, Hector Fort has overcome his viral infection and is set to reinforce the Barcelona reserve team.
Albert Sanchez has already included Fort as part of the Barça Atletic squad, which will take on Ourense later tonight.
This could prove to be an exciting opportunity for Fort, as he looks to make a mark after a slow start to the season.
Even with Barcelona not having a single natural right-back option this season, Fort has failed to establish himself in the first-team, falling behind Jules Kounde in the pecking order.
Making a strong impact on the reserve team, therefore, could go a long way in boosting Fort’s confidence as he looks to continue fighting for a place in the senior team.
Apart from Fort, Barça Atletic coach Sanchez will also be boosted by the availability of two other young players who are in the first-team dynamics – Ander Asterlaga and Sergi Dominguez.
Dominguez made quite the impression with his cameo against Real Valladolid in Barcelona’s last game and it will be interesting to see how performs against Ourense tonight.
The same can be said for Fort and Asterlaga, as they brace themselves for a riveting encounter.
