The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has thrown its weight behind the forthcoming demonstration organized by the Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) in Lilongwe.

In a statement signed by the party’s Secretary General, Peter Mukhitho, DPP urged its supporters to join the demonstration and exercise their right to peaceful protest.

The party emphasized the importance of calm and peaceful conduct during the protest.

The DPP has also endorsed CDEDI’s demands, which include the resignation of Minister of Energy, Ibrahim Matola, and Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) Director General, Henry Kachaje.

The party argues that the current administration has failed to address the country’s challenges, including the fuel shortage crisis.

CDEDI’s demonstration is expected to bring together Malawians from all walks of life, united in their demand for accountability and good governance.

The event is seen as an opportunity for citizens to express their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs and to call for meaningful change.
