UTM Governor calls for President Chakwera’s removal to uncover truth behind plane crash

By Burnett Munthali

In a bold and controversial statement, Frackson Kadziotche Kanjele, the UTM Party Governor for Lilongwe District, has claimed that Malawians will only know the full truth about the plane crash tragedy once President Lazarus Chakwera is removed from office.

Speaking at a political gathering in Area 25, Kanjele used a Chichewa proverb to emphasize his point, stating:

“There is a saying in Chichewa: ‘Khoswe akakhala pa mkhate sapheka,’ which means you cannot kill a rat while it is still sitting on the bread. You must first remove it.”

According to Kanjele, this proverb applies directly to Malawi’s political situation. He argued that as long as Chakwera remains in power, the nation will remain in the dark about the true circumstances surrounding the aircraft accident that shook the country.

“We must first remove Chakwera before we can learn the full truth. Once he is out, we will be able to address all the pressing issues facing our country,” he declared.

Kanjele’s remarks come amid growing political tensions and public demands for accountability over the mysterious plane crash. His statement suggests that the UTM faction believes critical information is being withheld from the public, fueling further speculation and political debate.

As Malawi continues to grapple with political and economic challenges, Kanjele’s remarks add to the ongoing discourse on leadership, governance, and transparency. Whether his call for Chakwera’s removal will gain momentum remains to be seen, but it is clear that the issue of the plane crash investigation remains a major concern for many Malawians.
