Continued support for flood victims will greatly assist those affected during their time of need towards recovery.

Minister of Water and Sanitation Abida Sidik Mia who is also Member of Parliament for Chikwawa Nkombedzi said this at the donation of relief food from government through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) at Ngabu Secondary School ground on Sunday.

Mia said, until now, the flood victims have failed to recover after they were hit by Cyclone Ana and before they could recover were hit again by Cyclone Gombe.

She has therefore called on donors to continue assisting the affected people as the need is still there.

“We thank the donors for their assistance, but, at the same time, we are asking them to continue assisting the flood victims because the need is still there,” said Mia.

About 1,800 households in Chikwawa Nkombedzi have received relief maize, beans, soya pieces and fish from DoDMA.
