A Concerned citizen of Malawi has written a straight forward open letter to Minister of Trade and Industry Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba alleging that the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) inner circle, including President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, has seemingly declared war on him.
The citizen says the speech made by President Chakwera on the Labour Day 1st May, 2025 in Balaka has exposed what is being discussed in the darkness against him and there is need for him to open eyes, enemies are from within.
In his speech in Balaka, President Chakwera said there is one minister who is going around visiting Indian shops and companies taking money from them for campaign purposes but did not disclose who that minister is.
In the straight forward open letter, the concerned citizen says it is disheartening that Vitumbiko Mumba’s significant financial contributions to the party seem to hold no value saying they are determined to bring about his downfall at any moment and are after his head.
The citizen has asked Mumba to learn from Dr. Saulosi Chilima and Mohammad Sidik Mia who also made substantial contributions to the party, but were escorted to early graves questioning him where the two are?
“MCP is the blood party famous for silencing its critics through brutal killing just like what they did to Mia and Dr. Chilima, as young and energetic individual with a promising future, you may consider your option outside of MCP, you have integrity and a legacy,” reads the concerned citizen’s writings on the wall.
Seasoned journalist who is also MCP’s diehard member Dickson Kashoti writing on his face book page, has asked the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Deputy Director General Hilary Chilomba to act swiftly to arrest the minister just as he did with the late Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima.
Kashoti says the president has said it all, so it is up to the ACB’s Director General to arrest him, saying this minister (nduna) got K50 million from Chipiku, K100 million from Central Poultry and K500 million from the Asians.
“Don’t leave him scot-free, he will get used, Uyu osamusiya, adzazolowera, Ndiope ndani?” reads Kashoti’s writings on the wall.
Meanwhile, JFM face book page has comfortably confirmed that the ACB in few days coming will arrest a minister who has been mentioned in a public speech by President Chakwera claiming that all evidences have been given to the president and now the ACB is working on the documents.
