Independent presidential hopeful Milward Tobias has taken a significant step in his 2025 campaign journey.

He arrived at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe to formally present his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).

Tobias’ arrival was marked by a calm and composed demeanor, reflecting his seriousness about participating in the upcoming September 16th General Election.

The submission of nomination papers is a key requirement in the electoral process, as it confirms a candidate’s intent to contest for the highest office in the land.

Tobias, who has branded himself as a nonpartisan voice with a focus on integrity and policy-driven leadership, is expected to outline his vision for Malawi during this crucial phase.

His presence at BICC adds to the growing list of contenders officially entering the presidential race, signaling the intensifying momentum of the election season.

As an independent candidate, Tobias positions himself outside the traditional party structures, appealing to voters who are disillusioned with mainstream political establishments.

His candidacy, if approved, will place him among those vying for the presidency in what is shaping up to be a highly competitive and closely watched election.
