Rights activist Comrade Jonathan Phiri, has called on all Malawians that have felt pain in their hearts with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP quest to bring back the country to a one-party state and dictatorship, that the 16th September, 2025 elections be the day to hold demonstrations in Malawi.
Comrade Phiri has claimed that from 2020 after the MCP was ushered into government, activists holding demonstrations were being arrested, opposition party leaders arrested and those with dissenting views were being silenced by police arrests and detentions.
He has also claimed that arrested activists were being thrown into police Land cruisers as bags of maize where they found armed youth operatives from the MCP to be mocking at them for playing with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) government.
Speaking through an audio clip, Comrade Phiri says the 16th September, 2025 elections are for the change of leadership in Malawi urging those who have smelled teargas by police, those terrorized and hacked by MCP youth, to take this day, a Liberation Day.
Comrade Phiri has appealed to all Malawians that are praying for change of leadership that never and ever to be deceived by handouts from the MCP be the K2000s, t-shirts and zitenje’s encouraging them to receive and vote for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for the country to be out of crocodile jaws.
“Let’s all patronize polling stations to hold demonstrations on the 16th September, 2025 to say enough is enough with President Chakwera and the MCP,” he said.
On the DPP-UTM failed opposition alliance, Comrade Phiri has advised the UTM leadership that to be against the DPP and Professor Mutharika will take the UTM party to nowhere assuring them that they are punishing themselves.
Comrade Phiri said the way Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has changed his life to start castigating Professor Mutharika, has spoken itself that God has not blessed his leadership, instead of accepting that he failed the alliance, he is castigating Professor Mutharika.
He has reminded the UTM leadership that the country is sailing through challenges ranging from leadership to economy not because of Professor Mutharika but the current leadership of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
The activist has assured UTM leadership that what they are doing to be against Professor Mutharika is time wasting, Malawians will not waste their time listening to them and on the 16th September, 2025 elections, the DPP will win.
“Malawians are speaking good of Professor Mutharika to liberate the country and proven leadership is coming with him,” said Phiri.
