By Suleman Chitera Jan11,2023

Justice Gladys Gondwe of Mzuzu High Court has this morning reserved her ruling to 2 pm on whether to grant bail or not Tadikira Mafudza Mutharika who is being accused of murder and human trafficking.

The lawyer for Mafudza Mutharika, Gilbert Khonyongwa stated that his client having already spent a month and two weeks behind bars needs to be granted bail in the interest of justice saying the suspect remains innocent until proven guilty.

The lawyer representing the State, Dziko ndi anthu Malunda, said it will be difficult to grant the suspect bail because the other two suspects connected with the same case are still at large.

He has however said that if the court at its discretion decides to give him bail it should be under stringent conditions.
