President Lazarus Chakwera has made a strong appeal for the United Nations to truly put into practice and not just merely preaching about the call of leaving no one behind as he observes that some countries are left behind to fend for themselves in some eventualities. He made the observation Thursday evening when he addressed the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America. Chakwera observed that collective negligence of countries has left the global economy on fire. The 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has commenced at the UN Headquarters in New York City, United States of America. President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will be among the 192 world leaders to hold discussions during the high level deliberative session which starts on 20 September 2022. The assembly has reconvened physically after a break of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Aside from the assembly which is the main deliberative organ, the president will hold bilateral and multilateral engagements with other world leaders and heads of international institutions aimed at promoting Malawi as a competitive investment destination in Africa and use the opportunity to consolidate various bilateral ties the country has.
