Christopher Mzomera-Ngwira, the Regional Chairperson of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the Northern Region, has called on the youth in the region to uphold good conduct, avoid violence, and support the party with positive behavior. His message aims to inspire the youth to contribute to the party’s growth and ensure that their actions attract others to join the DPP.

Mzomera-Ngwira made these remarks during a ceremony where he welcomed new members into the party, including Yolanda Ngwira, the former MCP District Youth Chairperson for Njuyu, and Mike Kafoteka, a former youth leader within the MCP. The event also saw the DPP receiving a warm welcome from these new members, who expressed their reasons for joining.

According to Ngwira, former leader Peter Mutharika’s respect for democracy is a key factor in his decision to join the DPP. Ngwira emphasized that Mutharika does not support violence among his party’s supporters or any other party’s followers, highlighting the peaceful nature of the DPP under his leadership.

Both Yolanda Ngwira and Mike Kafoteka expressed their confidence in Mutharika’s leadership and trust in his ability to guide Malawi through its current challenges. They believe that many Malawians share the same faith in Mutharika and his vision for the country.

Mzomera-Ngwira’s call for peace and discipline comes at a time when political tensions are high, and his message serves to remind the youth of the importance of contributing to the nation’s future through unity and respect. The DPP, under Mutharika, is focused on promoting democratic values and peaceful coexistence, setting an example for the next generation of leaders.
