FDH Bank plc has offered two months job placements to four of the best performing students from CCAP Blantyre Synod schools.
FDH Bank plc deputy managing director George Chitera made the offer when he presided over the Blantyre Synod Education Department Excellence Awards in Blantyre.
He said apart from getting the workplace experience, the interns will be receiving allowaces.
Chitera also pledged that the bank will support 10 students from the Blantyre Synod schools with university tuition fees.
“It is part of our DNA at FDH to take education seriously, over the years we have supported the education sector. We want to develop the students to allow them to achieve whatever they want to achieve,” he said.
During the awards students, teachers and non-academic staff were awarded in various categories.
The synod’s schools achieved an average 94.3 percent pass rate in the 2024 Malawi School Certificate of Education against a national pass rate of 54.7 percent.
Out of 638 students that sat for examinations in CCAP Blantyre Synod Schools 602 passed and 368 are eligible for university selection
Henry Henderson Institute student Gomezgani Gowelo emerged the best male student with an aggregate of 11 points while Thandizo Chikwatu of Neno Girls Mission Secondary School scored and aggregate of 13 points.
CCAP Blantyre Synod deputy general secretary the Reverend Buxton Maulidi thanked FDH Bank plc for supporting the synod’s education endeavours.
