A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has urged the media in Malawi to be following high profile murder cases for members of public to be fed with the right information.

Kamphangala said in August, 2025 suspects who were behind killing innocent people using steel bars in Area 25- Lilongwe were paraded to the general public demonstrating how they were killing people to robe them with whatever they had at that hour of their fate.

He said till this day, the public has received blackout of information on the suspects who were paraded in front of cameras in Area 25 with no one questioning their whereabouts probably the elections of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as President of the country has made Malawians to forget the murder suspects.

Counsel Bob Chimkango has come up with food for thoughts writing on his face book page reminding Malawians on the forgotten murder suspects story that happened on the 17th November, 2025 when unknown people fatally shot dead a Medical Doctor- Victoria Bobe in Blantyre.

Police in Blantyre paraded the suspects allegedly behind the fatally shot to dead Doctor Bobe with their identities and to this day, nobody knows the whereabouts of the suspects with many questions than answers the same as Area 25 murder suspects.

Lawyer Bob Chimkango said now that the state allegedly arrested the Dr. Bobe’s killers and showed the nation their faces and their names saying as the requirement of the law, every person arrested has to be taken to court within 48 hours to be informed of the reasons of their arrest and further detention.

Chimkango said now that sending suspects to prison for remand requires that they appear in court and be properly remanded questioning the government when will the 48 hours expire from the date they were arrested?

“Kapena basi anakawabwenzera komwe anawabwerekako kuti bola athana nazo basi? Lies have short legs,” reads Chimkango’s writings on the wall.

Kamphangala said if the media was reporting on every minute feedbacks on high profile murder suspects, Lawyer Chimkango could not have asked questions for government to provide clarification on the paraded suspects who fatally shot dead Doctor Bobe in Blantyre.

He has pleaded with those responsible for the media in the Judiciary to circulate a notice of the high profile murder cases to go on a particular day so that media houses can plan who of their personnel to be send to court to provide coverage.

“What Lawyer Chimkango has said should receive commendations that government will work out on its mistakes for the public to receive accurate information on court cases,” said
