The Confederation for African Volleyball (CAVB) president, Bouchra Hajij, has arrived in Malawi today, Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Her visit is highly anticipated, especially among the volleyball community, as it’s expected to boost the sport’s growth and development in the country.
According to MacGodwin Mangani, Volleyball Association of Malawi’s (VAM) Publicity Secretary, Hajij’s visit underscores the country’s commitment to developing the sport . “Her expertise and guidance will undoubtedly benefit Malawi’s volleyball landscape”.
While in the country Hajij will grace the three day 2024, K25 million Raiply National Volleyball tournament at Katoto Sports Complex in Mzuzu City from Friday to Sunday.
She’ll meet with high-ranking government officials, including the Sports Minister, after inspecting Griffin Saenda Sports Complex and then will plant a tree at Raiply offices in Chikangawa.
The three-day Raiply National Volleyball tournament has drawn 24 teams from across the country, comprising 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams promising to be an exciting showcase of Malawi’s volleyball talent.
