The National Revolution Party (NRP) says it is now in its final stages of establishment, rising with one mission to return power to the people-especially the farmers, the youth, the workers, and the dreamers of Malawi.
NRP is not just another political party, it is a Movement, a revolution in ideology, and a rebirth of national pride and purpose –ending exploitation in farming saying revolutionize agriculture by supporting farmers with access to local and international markets, and promoting crop diversification beyond tobacco.
The party said reclaiming national pride by putting Malawi first from trade deals to development priorities, break dependency on foreign donors by building a self –reliant economy driven by Malawian innovation and uplifting rural communities with infrastructure, heath care and education policies that reflect the people’s needs.
The party’s President Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe says the nation, blessed with fertile lands, hardworking citizens, and untapped potential continues to struggle under the burden of outdated systems, foreign control, and recycled leadership.
Alhaji Jumbe says for decades, Malawians have farmed tirelessly especially tobacco, yet the rewards of their sweat and toil are stolen from them by decisions made far away in boardrooms they will never enter.
He says the new crop of leadership must be made up of people who understand the pain of the common man who have lived the struggle, and who are determined to build a Malawi where every citizen shares in the wealth of the nation.
The NRP President says for too long, Malawi’s tobacco industry has been controlled by foreign interests, Malawians grow the crop, take the risk, invest the labour, yet they are not the one’s deciding its value.
He says instead, foreign companies fly in, speak in languages not even used in their home countries, and dictate prices that insult the country’s farmers and rob the country’s economy-describing this as modern-day slavery wrapped in polite suits and colonial attitudes.
“Malawi will reclaim control of our agricultural markets, no longer will farmers be dictated by outsiders, no longer will pricing be a foreign affair, we will empower our farmers to set prices,” said Jumbe.
He says the days of farming while others profit is over saying the days of being spectators in their own economy must end and the future belongs to them calling on Malawians of all backgrounds especially the youth to join this revolution.
