The pre-elections survey results findings by Dig-Tech Research Institute (DTRI) in selected constituencies in the northern including Mzuzu City South East has projected 55 percent win for the businessman, William Chikweta Kaweche in Tuesday’s polls

According to the statement issued by DTRI’s Chief Statistician Oglives Alfred the survey was conducted between September 1st and 10th, 2025 in the constituency’s high density areas including; Chiputula, Hiltop, Chibanja, Masasa and Msongwe targeting a total of 1000 respondents.
According to results released on Sunday ,Malawi Congress Party candidate, Bennex Mwamlima trails on second position with 15 percent, while Catherine Nyangulu of UTM polled 11 percent of the sample results.
“The findings also suggests that 08 percent of the constituents preferred to vote for an independent candidate Webster Arthur Ndhlozi while Democratic Progressive Party’s Faisal Imtyaz Patel got 04 percent,” said Alfred.
Other contestants polled as follows; Dennis Adadawaliwekha Mhone-AFORD with 02 percent, Lissie Mwauluka-Independent with 01 percent and Willard Likwambe Msosa-UDF also with 01 percent while Kamuzu Chibambo-PETRA managed 0.6 percent,

The report further says 2.4 percent of the respondents remain undecided.
None of the candidates could be contacted to comment on the survey results considering the electoral requirements not to campaign inside the 48 hours prior to polling.
According to the DTRI, the main objective of the survey was to gather accurate data on constituent’s attitude, preference and expectations for the aforementioned candidates.
