“We have incredibly gifted players who remain unknown simply because they lack exposure. Initiatives like this are crucial,” said Phiri, who currently serves in the Ministry of Sports.

With an investment exceeding K150 million, the Shepherd Bushiri Foundation football bonanzas have already reached districts such as Mchinji, Dowa, Balaka, Mzimba, Karonga, Rumphi, and Mzuzu—making it one of the most impactful grassroots football programs in Malawi today.
