Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City Kabwabwa – Dzenza Constituency Jonathan Mfune, has called on residents of Area 25B township – Kanthepa location not to allow politics dividing them for the area to develop.
Mfune said people have done politics and time for politics is over, this is the time for development calling on all the residents to have a unity of purpose regardless of political affiliations.Three Area 25 Murder Suspects Remanded for 30 Days
He said there shall be one leader at a time, Malawians elected Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as President of the country, him as Member of Parliament and Loyd Matewere Junior as Councilor for Kabwabwa Ward.
Speaking during a funeral service at Kanthepa location in the area, Mfune urged the residents to support the leaders of the day for meaningful development to take place in their areas.
Mfune lamented that there have been three to four funeral services in the area claiming that he and the councilor were not informed only seeing people coming back home from the graveyard.Police nab notorious armed robbery gang in Lilongwe’s Area 25
He appealed to the residents to take him and Councilor Lloyd Matewere as their own children for the area not as a Member of Parliament and Councilor respectively.
” We are one you, whenever there’s a funeral, tell us, we will come not as elected leaders but citizens of this area,” said Mfune.

Speaking earlier, Councilor for Kabwabwa Ward Lloyd Matewere Junior informed the residents that there were Block Leadership elections in the area which did not go in the interest of the residents and as such the Ward Development Committee (WBC) recommended for nullification of the elections.

He appealed to the residents to support the caretaker Block Leader for the area not to lag behind in development projects saying it is up to the residents of the location themselves to maintain Mr. Mike Mgawana or calling for Block Leadership elections in line with the democratic values they have.
